Translation & transcription for two documentary films

Amero Communications contacted us with a request to translate and transcribe two documentary films. The first documentary footage consisted of series of interviews with people from various backgrounds and activating in different business areas of modern day Russia, with each person providing its own insight on their personal professional career, daily business operations, recreational activities, as well as sharing their plans, hopes and thoughts for the future.
The second documentary was about a group of volunteers scanning Russian woods with metal detectors near Vyazma, were fierce battles took place during World War II when Soviet resistance movements fought here to stop the German advance towards Moscow.

The volume for both of these projects totaled 39,550 Russian words transcribed and translated.

A multi-step quality assurance process embedded within the project management procedures ensured the transcribed text has been checked thoroughly before proceeding to the translation stage. Having an in-depth understanding of local language nuances, our native Russian translators have been able to identify colloquial expressions and idioms, as well as metaphors, analogies and other culturally tagged linguistic entities and provide quality translation service. On few occasions professional audio editing software has been used to process audio files and filter to reduce background and other noises interfering with the actual speech.

Due to project management and quality assurance procedures no particular challenges were encountered and both Russian transcription and translation teams were able to successfully complete the project and deliver quality work before the deadline.

Testimonial feedback:

"I didn't spend any more than a couple of hours on this, so I selected random parts and compared the recording to the transcription, then the transcription to the translation.  In my opinion, they're both very good, or even excellent.  I looked to potential improvement, but truly thought that the original product was not subject to improvement of any significant kind.  It gets the point across in a true translation of the recording, without any overly purple prose."
